Story

This project seeks to reinstate a play area on the Trent village green, following the demolition of the previous equipment due to its poor condition.

Consequently, since 2017 there have been no local facilities for children to use for exercise and play activities.

The pandemic has exacerbated this, and many parents who would like their children to use a playground have been forced to go without or drive to neighbouring towns or villages to access play equipment.

This is undesirable on both environmental and health grounds, not least as there is already an obesity crisis amongst children because of lack of exercise.

Trent village green lies adjacent to the Trent Young's primary school and so there are opportunities at the beginning and end of the school day for pupils - and their siblings - to use the playground.

The Memorial Hall was built to commemorate the men of Trent who fought and died in the Great War. We aim to provide a flexible and attractive community facility to meet the needs of the local community now and for future generations. We will remember the fallen by building for the future.
