On the 22nd May, over 200 TRIBE runners will put themselves to the test, pushing their limits to cut their Half Marathon PB by 10%, all as part of our mission to fight modern slavery in the UK.
The TRIBE 10% Project is our way of defying the injustice of modern slavery. Our absolute freedom to run, as a TRIBE, covering thousands of miles in training together, and pushing our boundaries to cut that 10% is a privilege as much as it is a challenge.
Our goal: To raise £10,000 to support TRIBE Freedom Foundation and our frontline projects, preventing modern slavery and empowering the survivors across the UK.
Why?
Today, 187 years since Britain passed the Abolition of Slavery Act, more than 40 million people are living in modern slavery worldwide and an estimated 136,000 people are exploited within the UK at any one time .
TRIBE Freedom Foundation is on a mission to fight modern slavery and end human trafficking. They work by raising awareness of trafficking, supporting survivors and enabling frontline projects to prevent modern slavery. They empower communities to create an impact.
The current pandemic has put more adults and children who are already in, or vulnerable to modern slavery, at even higher risk of exploitation. As we come out of lockdown, holistic long term support for human trafficking survivors could not be more important.
Your fundraising will enable us to deliver this alongside our outstanding project partners at HERA, Ella's, The Helen Bamber Foundation and Justice & Care.
Together, we go further and faster to end modern slavery.
Let's do this!
