Story

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation

Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is the charitable arm of Professional Rugby League Club, Wakefield Trinity.

Over the last 16 years, we have pledged our time and dedication to use the power of the Rugby League and physical activity to inspire our community, creating lasting legacies for the people within it. We relish the opportunity to use sport and physical activity to create a positive change and impact on the lives of those we work with.

Within the Foundation, we work across five distinct departments, Education, Rugby League, Health & Wellbeing, Youth Engagement and Heritage.

As a club & Foundation, we are ambitious to seek constant improvement and become one of the leading Sports Foundations in the country, whilst working towards the following mission statement;

'We aim to use the power of sport and physical activity to improve the lives of those within our community.’

‘We aim to be at the heart of the community, adaptable and responsive to the local needs, ensuring our projects are inclusive, sustainable and leave a legacy.’

Helping the Homeless Wakefield

Helping the Homeless Wakefield is a local charity looking to support those who currently reside on our streets.

Current statistics say one in three households are struggling between eating or heating and as such are at a very real risk of falling homeless.

Of course, there are many, many good causes out there but as they say, charity begins at home, so, as an organisation, they are trying to do something to help those in our city who desperately need it.

They have multiple objectives, further listed below, however, their main aim is they want to stop people having to sleep rough on our streets.

- Stopping rough sleeping on the streets of Wakefield.

- Providing temporary accommodation for the homeless.

- Helping the homeless and needy to get back on their feet.

Trinity Under the Stars

Following the success of last year's event, Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is delighted to confirm that the event will take place yet again in 2023 from the Be Well Support Stadium.

The maiden year of the event was a resounding success, with over 25 people braving the cold weather to sleep inside the stadium, raising over £3500 for both the Foundation's ongoing programmes and Helping the Homeless Wakefield.

Supported by Wakefield Street Kitchen, Local Vocals Choir & Amber Falls, the evening will consist of food, music, guest speakers and quizzes, the Foundation is inviting members of the Wakefield community to come together and support the fight against Homelessness.

We have set a sponsorship target of £100, with the event being open to those aged 12+. All of those aged under 18 will have to be accompanied by an idea or handed written approval.

Registration is now open as we encourage all of those associated with the club to come down and take part!
