Who we are!
Triple As (AKA Autism Awareness Association, TAs) Is a by-autists-for-autists peer support charity based in Aberdeen.
Our Purpose
Triple As believe that Autists are fundamentally Responsible, Capable, and Competent. Autism is neither good nor bad, it is just a thing. Our experiences are mixtures of neutral, positive, and negative.
We are filling a niche:
TAs grew to fill an empty niche that our founding members saw in autism support services. Frequently services are focused on children, and when someone leaves school and grows out of that age range, many autists find that they do not qualify or meet the criteria for other support options that are designed for those with different support needs.
We fill the real need for young adult autists to have a network of peers, people who might not have exactly the same experiences, but who have a better chance of getting it. To be able to talk and share with others like ourselves and to create a community and to know that we are not broken or alone.
Why are we fundraising?
Over the last few years, starting with lockdown, TA has undergone some extensive changes, there have been some unexpected bills and changes in the cost of energy has left us over-committed. In order to continue providing the unique service for older-teenage and young-adult autists we need to ask for your help.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
