Story

Performing arts is a craft that attracts many Neurodivergent children, young people and adults. One reason for this is thought to be because the individual can perform confidentially as an actor, singer and enjoy a more extrovert experience on stage or screen. Neurodivergent performers like neuro typical performers are talented across a broad repertoire, accessing the same training to hone their skill set.

Neurodivergence is a range of neurological conditions that vary the way in which someone learns, attends, communicates and interacts. For example Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia. These can be diagnosed or can be how a person identifies. Both are equally valid.

The Triple A Performer charity was born from the personal story of a young person who has a diagnosis of Autism, ADHD and Anxiety (triple A) and has trained and performed from the age of 5. Over the years this has created the highest of highs and the lowest of lows for a variety of reasons that always come back to his varied way of learning, attending, communicating and interacting.

The purpose of the charity is to raise acceptance of Neurodivergence in performing arts and drama and how children, young people and adults can be supported within the sector to access their passion, on a level playing field. To do this we offer at no cost:

Training in Neurodivergency and strategies to support fair access and inclusion.

Resources to enhance good practice and offer solutions

Annual events to showcase neurodivergent talent and enhance our message.

Non judgemental advice and learning opportunities in specific cases to reach mutually beneficial outcomes and enhance good practice.

Justification and Accountability

Our training and resources are built from lived experience within performing arts of Neurodivergent children, young people and adults. We support this with professional qualifications in Neurodivergency, training and continuous research of the sector we represent. We are a registered charity and source funding through grants such as Community Lottery , Arts Council and other fund raising. This allows us to provide training and resources at no cost. We hold full public liability insurance.
