Story

You may be aware of Blue Monday as it has become known. It is the third Monday in January and is apparently when there are most absences from work, days off school and generally a day when after Christmas people may be feeling low and struggling with their mental health. The Headlight Project wants to turn this day from blue to bright (orange) and it would be a reminder to us all that when you are feeling down there are things you can do to feel better.

The idea is to make everyone smile and be happy so feel free to be creative!... Dress up in Orange, do a physical activity wearing orange, make orange cakes and get together with work colleagues or friends, it's entirely up to you! All we ask is that you share all of your pictures with us on social media with the #turnbluemondaybright and tag in the Headlight Project. Lets turn those news feeds bright too!!!

The overriding aim of our campaign is to raise awareness of mental health issues. We want to help as many people as we can, who may be feeling down and give them a reason to smile that day!

We will be emailing some well-being tips to be given out on the day to anyone participating and we will be posting on our social media platforms too!

We also have a campaign page where you can set up your own fundraising page which is linked to it, or make a donation. We also have paper sponsor forms available too if you need them. We would suggest a donation of £1 for dressing up for the day, but any fundraising is entirely down to you.

We have a number of primary schools that support the Charity, who are taking part too. They are planning things that day that the children can do, like in Art, bright pictures, use of happy music, dancing and exercise, and uplifting reading throughout the day. We will be giving the children orange wristbands as a reminder of the day.

Please get in touch with suzanne@headlightproject.com, if you want to be involved and need more information.

We hope you will join us to #TURN BLUE MONDAY BRIGHT
