Story
The first Raid bike ride was back in 2013 and has been a biennial event ever since . Funds raised support education in the Lower Solu Khumbu region of Nepal. With the incredible generosity of so many people, over £120,000 has been raised, triggering a further £200,000 in associated grants.
This has directly contributed to the building of 48 fully resourced earthquake resistant classrooms, 10 libraries, 9 toilet blocks and an increase in the number of sponsored female teachers from 4 to 31, as well as a range of initiatives that support women to overcome inequalities in education.
The Raid bike rides are helping local people overcome the challenges they face, allowing them to determine their own futures. This year's bike team are excited that the charity’s next building project, a six-classroom build in Shree Garma School In 2025, will receive support from the 2025 Tuscan Raid.
