Thames Valley Harriers (TVH), is a Community Amateur Sports Club, based in Wormwood Scrubs in the heart of West London. Founded in 1887, TVH is already one of the UKs top athletics clubs and we aim to be the best athletics club in the country.
Under the guidance of our Olympic athletes, we also provide children in the local community with athletics training which makes them fitter, healthier and able to perform better at school. For children who develop a passion for athletics, we help them achieve their goals from fun running to elite level competition.
This is all achieved from our home, a run down stadium at Wormwood Scrubs. The stadium is named after our Club President, 100m Olympic and World Champion Linford Christie, who trained there as a TVH member and grew up in Shepherds Bush. We are leading plans to improve the facility.
In order for the club to prosper and to help us expand our coaching set-up and meet the demand from the local community and local schools we now need to raise £40,000 per year.
TVH is run almost entirely by volunteers. They do everything from cleaning to coaching to tea-serving to officiating at events to day-to-day management, to running athletics training for schoolchildren.
