Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade (TVLB), is funded entirely by voluntary contributions. Largely focused from within the North Tyneside area, these donations help us to provide our 24/7 coastal rescue team, and to maintain and develop our award-winning Watch House Museum.

2020 has been incredibly challenging for us all, and the TVLB has faced unprecedented difficulties. With the Rescue Team experiencing another busy year, we have seen nearly all of our fundraising events cancelled, whilst the challenges of being custodians for two wooden buildings facing straight into the wilds of the North Sea mean our maintenance and restoration costs have continued to rise.

Normally we would receive a financial boost each December when we hold our Annual Smoking Concert - this is an event held on the closest Friday to 5th December when we gather with many friends and colleagues to celebrate the anniversary of the Brigade being formed in 1864.

Although we will be unable to hold the event this year, we are asking you to support our efforts by entering our Annual Raffle.

We have received some fabulous prizes, including £150 of Amazon Vouchers, a weekend away for 2 in a lovely cottage in Northumberland, and a geet big bottle of Jack Daniels Whiskey.

We've received vouchers for several great local restaurants and pubs including High Tide, Rileys Fish Shack, The Beehive, The Kittiwake & The Quarry Inn. The bottle selection is significant including numerous bottles of wine and prosecco, a bottle of Smirnoff, a bottle of Smirnoff Espresso, Grahams late bottle vintage port, and Bushmills Irish Whiskey. We also have an adult and child bodyboard, a backpack, a print of a painting by Mike Smith of the grounding of the Beverwijk III on the foundations of the old North Tyne Pier, and a 4-ball at a local Northumberland Golf Club worth £400.

We'd like to thank the many local businesses, and friends of the Brigade, who have been so generous in donating prizes.

Each entry for the raffle costs £2. So, if you donate £10 you will be entered five times a £20 donation will lead to 10 entries.

The draw for the raffle will take place on Friday 4th December. Prizes will be delivered within the North Tyneside and Newcastle area, or available for collection from our Watch House Museum in Tynemouth.

All winners will be contacted by Tuesday 8th December.

This raffle is being organised in line with the guidance for an incidental lottery and will be drawn electronically using randomised search functions within Microsoft Excel. No physical tickets will be issued each entry will be recorded per line in our spreadsheet. Please contact secretary@tvlb.org for more details.
