Story

Not everyone has equal opportunity to enter higher education. With the rising price of living in London and the lack of part-time jobs available, for some of our students the barriers to studying at UAL are greater than ever before. Today, we ask for your donation to support those who need additional help to pursue their dreams of a creative career.

UAL Creative Future Fund

UAL Creative Future Fund aims to help our most disadvantaged students with a bursary to study at one of our six renowned Colleges. By contributing towards the Fund, you are helping to support students to access UAL's world-leading education programmes and creating equal opportunity for everyone to succeed.

These are exceptional times and it has never been more difficult to be a student. Over the past 18 months, UAL has released £2.3 million in dedicated hardship support to our students, but we would still like to do more. Your donation will be channelled towards supporting some of the most disadvantaged students to enter our programmes with bursaries that prioritise those who are first in their family to attend university, looked after children, care leavers, and from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

Current estimates put London living costs at £16,000 per annum, an amount that makes studying at UAL impossible for those that do not have financial assistance. Through providing a bursary throughout the course of their studies, your gift will alleviate the immediate challenges that studying can present and bridge the gap for many to pursue their academic ambitions.

One of our biggest concerns is the rising level of student debt and hardship, particularly for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Bursaries have played a key role in addressing these concerns and it is clear that they have made a real, even life-changing, difference to the individual students. - Professor Jeremy Till, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of Central Saint Martins
