We formed in 2015 when Jane, the founder, went to Macedonia to help get some aid released for customs in Skopje. Jane was in the Balkans helping feed and clothe refugees in a transit camp by a train station that had initially no help at all. With a Greek friend she formed Island2Island to move aid from Lesvos island which had all media attention and moved it to Chios Island that had, at the time, almost no help, and many arrivals by boat.
We need funds to:
-Help support refugees with basic needs such as food and clothing and run our refugee hub, to grow food at our community garden, make things for their family, to learn new skills and to have their children join in with things other kids get to do
-Pay for community meals to bring our whole community together in Wrexham through refugees cooking international food, all freshly made to feed our Wrexham community.
-Be able to help more overseas grassroots projects again such as an employment scheme for widowed Syrian refugees in Lebanon and a family focussed NGO in Ukraine 'Dream of Children of Ukraine'
