We are excited to share with you our cause and fundraising efforts for Engineers in Action (EIA) UCL chapter. EIA (https://www.eiabridges.org/) is a non-governmental organization that works with groups of students from various universities and connects them with underprivileged communities in developing countries. Our goal is to build footbridges that are vital for these communities, giving them access to essential services and opportunities.

We are proud to join the efforts of EIA to create positive change in the world. Over the academic year, our students will work on designing and fundraising for our first bridge, which we plan to build next summer. However, this summer, we have an opportunity to send two of our students, Ines and Felicia, to join the team of Cornell and Rutgers universities in Mandlakhe, Eswatini.

The importance of this opportunity cannot be overstated. These two UCL students will be a great help to the team in Eswatini. Together, they will help pregnant women safely reach hospitals, farmers access markets, and much more. In addition, Ines and Felicia will have an invaluable opportunity to learn from well-established chapters and help us run things smoothly back at UCL next year.
