Hi everyone! This summer I have the opportunity to build a footbridge for the community in Kea Kea, Bolivia, through the EIA bridge program. Once completed, the bridge will provide safe and reliable access to multiple schools, a health centre, sports and entertainment activities, and agricultural land. In addition to the direct benefit to the community, this opportunity will give us invaluable experience and insight when it comes to designing our own bridge in a different community next year as we establish our own UCL chapter.

Personally, it will be a chance to put into practice some of my engineering knowledge, but also to learn so much more. I decided to study engineering because of its potential to help people's lives, and this experience is a step along that journey.
