UC London EIA - Bridge Build 2023

Story

Hello! My name is Ina, but if you're reading this you probably know me. You might also know that I study Engineering and Architectural Design at UCL and that I am passionate about spreading my knowledge, creating opportunities for others. Today I need your help with my mission: sending two younger UCL students to help build a footbridge for the community of Mandlakhe, Eswatini.

This is part of my work with Engineers in Action – an NGO connecting university students to underprivileged communities through bridge construction projects. My journey with EIA began when a friend mentioned joining them at her university. I fell in love with the idea of leading a team of brilliant, skilled students to help a community in need by designing and building a footbridge. My last couple months were filled with meetings, applications, and all sorts of organization to officially launch UCL’s EIA chapter and become its Project Manager.

It all paid off and we now have the amazing opportunity to send two team members - Ines and Felicia to Eswatini over the summer. We have done the work and are ready to commit our time and efforts; all we need is your financial support.

Where will your money go? Every bit we raise will be used to cover travel costs – flights, ground transport, visas, insurances. Any unused funds will be used for our next project.

How will this bridge help? We are building a real bridge for real people! Pregnant mothers will cross it to reach hospitals, fathers will access markets, children will go to school.

Where to find out more? You can read about the program at https://www.eiabridges.org/ or contact me by social media or email (ina.natseva@icloud.com).

Thank you for considering my cause, every donation is appreciated, no matter the amount.
