UK PLATFORM FOR ALL

UK platform is a new free channel providing information and advice on Housing, Employment, Education, NHS services, Life encounters, etc.  The Association provides cultural and leisure services including: Calligraphy, Chinese painting, Cantonese Operatic Singing, Karaoke, ESOL, Putonghua, Social dance, Lion dance, Taichi Qigong, Yoga, Contemporary dance, the Table tennis club can accommodate 6 tables at any one time.  The Association also offers a barber service every month. The Luncheon Club is value for money providing nourishing home cooking at subsidised rate.  Overseas travels by air, cruise, rail and land as well as UK tours are extremely popular among members. The places they have visited over the years include: the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Continental Europe, the Baltic, Russia, Ireland, Egypt, Iceland, in the UK from Lands End to John Ogroats, the Lake District, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and, in China, The Yellow Mountain The Three Gorges, Shangri-La and many other interesting destinations.  The Association cooperates with the St Gabriels Catholic Church running a daily free breakfast for those in need.  When the Covid 19 virus is under control, UK Platform will organise gatherings inviting guests to share their life experiences in the UK. It will run health seminars; and organise wellbeing, cultural and leisure services, cooking and food tasting, and most importantly avail befriending opportunities.    

In 2020, the finance of the Association had been in significant deficit, for smooth running of the Association and to facilitate the UK Platform, we are appealing to all our members, friends and supporters for their generous donations.  A small contribution of £8 or £10 will go a long way, if you are a UK taxpayer, the Government will contribute a further 25% of the sum being donated.  Please tap on Justgiving.islingtonchineseassociation.
