Story
At OHOB we want to help support the people fleeing the conflict in Ukraine, and many of our supporters would also like to help. At this time aid is not needed, and many charities and agencies are overwhelmed with what is being given. The requests are focused on supporting fundraising. So we have decided to help by providing financial fundraising support to the charity Refugee Support Europe.
We have set a target of £2500 which we can transfer across to RSE to help with the frontline and immediate response. It is funds that are needed at this time rather than aid. We are proud to be able to support the charity as the money raised will help to provide emergency and an immediate response in Southern Romania and Moldova to those fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
The team at RSE are all highly experienced at providing emergency support to refugees and they will be arriving between 6-10 March. Not only have they worked in the chaos of refugee camps across Greece for the last 5 years, but they have also helped in similar situations in Bangladesh and in Mexico where emergent crises needed an immediate response. See the video below.
Refugee Support Europe will be part of a huge effort by civil society to help people on the move. Currently, it looks like there is a lot of support along the Polish, Slovakian, Hungarian and Northern Romanian borders. Refugee Support Europe plans to go to Southern Romania and Moldova where many are crossing from the South but where there is less support.
Please support with what you can as every little bit helps.
Big love and thank you x
