Story
The festive season is a time of joy, warmth, and togetherness. But for many families living in temporary or emergency accommodation, Christmas can be a period of worry and uncertainty. Last year, 54 children woke up in our supported accommodation on Christmas morning. As YMCA Cheltenham continues to support families facing homelessness that number has risen to over 90 children this Christmas. These families face the challenges of financial hardship, disruption to their routines and isolation.
At YMCA Cheltenham we work year-round to offer practical help, support, and a safe place for families to live, play, and thrive. This year we have launched our ‘Under the Tree’ Campaign to ensure these families will have presents to unwrap and a sense of belonging this Christmas.
