Our Autism Outreach Service is transforming the lives of children who would otherwise be socially isolated. Children like Conor, an 8 year-old boy who had a real fear of crowds and unfamiliar settings outside the house.
But we need your help to keep it going.
Most of our Autism Outreach activities take place outside, but sometimes (during bad weather, for example) we need to hire an indoor venue. Thats where a donation from you could make a huge difference.
£10 would help us hire a church hall for 1 hour for an art and craft session.
£20 would allow us to use a community centre for 2 hours to run music or drama therapy.
£30 would pay for part of an entertainment venue (like a bowling alley) to enable a group of children to take part in a social event (within Covid guidelines).
Your donation will also give a childs carers a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities.
Conor, the 8 year-old boy we mentioned above, has benefited hugely from the Autism Outreach Service. It helped to build up his confidence and become more comfortable with being out of the house.
Even when Covid hit, Shauna, Conors Positive Futures Support Worker, kept their contact going via Zoom calls. She also delivered activity packs to him at home.
A routine is vitally important to many children with an autistic spectrum condition and Conor is no exception. Thats why its devastating for him when bad weather interrupts his regular activities.
Whilst Conor loves his outdoor adventures with Shauna, such as treasure hunts or going to the park, this is not always possible with our unpredictable weather. Please help us guarantee that his activities and his progress - can continue whatever the weather by making a donation today. He and his family are depending on you.
