The professional clubs of Leicester will unite to tackle childhood obesity within our community. Walking from stadium to stadium and ending at Everards Meadows, monies raised will fund Healthy schools classes within Leicestershire. Raising £40,000 will give 9,000 children access to the healthy schools classes, that's less than £5 per child. The seven mile journey will take you to The Morningside Arena, Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium, King Power Stadium, Upton Steel County Ground and finally finishing at Everards Meadow's Beer Hall for well earned refreshment. The journey is aimed to be fun and friendly with all welcome to take part, in tackling the growing issue of childhood obesity. Worryingly statistics in the city show that childhood obesity levels rise from 13% at age 5, to 26% age 11. Utilising the inspirational values and messaging from the professional clubs, our dedicated staff, will be able to go into some of the most deprived areas, offering free sessions, around health and wellbeing, including practical sport.
