Can you remember a time you challenged yourself, stepped out of your comfort zone and achieved something? Big or small, these are times that are hard to forget. They are important moments of growth, learning and inspiration. This is what the work of Urban Uprising is all about. We elevate and inspire through rock climbing, helping develop valuable life skills for young people that need it most.
Our community of volunteers, climbers and young people are putting themselves out there to raise funds for Urban Uprising and the work we do. They'll be doing this by taking part in our new Challenge Accepted! fundraising campaign that will see each individual attempt a challenge that puts them out of their comfort zone and into the stretch zone. Their chosen challenge will be unique to them. For example, we are currently organising 3 separate 'ice swims' in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol where groups of volunteers will challenge themselves to brave freezing winter waters of lochs and marine lakes to help fundraise for our future programmes.

People will be doing all sorts of things but to give a flavour, it might be a physical challenge to run, hike, swim, or climb out of their comfort zone or it might be a mental challenge to work on a fear of heights or public speaking.
We will be updating our Facebook , Instagram and Twitter pages with stories of how everyone is getting on as more and more people pick up the challenge.
Please help us by sponsoring our community's Challenges. Any donation, small or large will go directly to support the running of our programmes and help more young people access these transformational experiences.
If we can reach £3000 we will be able to work with 20 young people by running our 10 week indoor 'Climb' programme with two separate groups of 10 young people. Each group will get: entry and gear hire, 2 climbing instructors, 2 youth work volunteers, NIBAS enrolments and logbooks, and an Urban Uprising t-shirt.
If you'd like to get involved and attempt your own sponsored challenge, its super easy and wed love to have you join the crew! The challenge can be anything at all - just get in touch for more information! - contact@urbanuprising.org
"I've really enjoyed the new experience of climbing, the best things have been meeting new people and gaining confidence, I can't wait to come back." - Participant of our programme, Carson Edwards
