Hillingdon Hospital Vein Scanner Appeal

Taking a blood sample from a distressed toddler or crying baby is never easy. This piece of equipment makes the procedure easier to locate a vein and for the whole process to be over quicker. It is £5,500 and we have raised £2,225 so far.

We are the official charity for Hillingdon Hospital & Mount Vernon Hospital in London. The charity receives donations from patients and the public and aims to utilise them primarily to enhance the welfare and amenities of patients and staff above and beyond the levels normally funded by the NHS

Story

If you have ever taken a frightened child to A&E you will know how traumatic it can be for them, let alone you as a parent. Taking a blood sample from a wriggling toddler or crying baby isn't easy, especially if it is hard to find a vein. A vein scanner finds a vein quickly making the process much easier for everyone involved.

We are trying to raise funds to buy at least one of these machines to improve our patient/family experience, and also help our staff.

Thank you.
