An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is an essential piece of life saving equipment in the first few minutes after a cardiac arrest.
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone of any age, anywhere. That’s why we believe it’s vital that access to an AED is only minutes away for anyone in need in our communities. Ideally access to an AED should be less than 3-5 minutes away from the person in need. This ultimately means the more AEDs that are located in communities the better.
You may have heard of the Oliver King Foundation; it’s aim is to install an AED in every school in the UK. We would like to see the same achieved for our local communities and at the same time bring communities closer together for the benefit of all, the ideal locations for AED installations would be at community centres in the heart of our communities.
