I am thrilled to announce my participation in the 128th Boston Marathon, and I am even more excited to share that this journey is about much more than personal achievement. In 2018, I ran my first and only marathon. Training for that race was an outlet that helped me heal after the death of my grandfather and I dedicated my run to him and pancreatic cancer awareness. A lot has changed in 5 years. I told myself I would never run another marathon unless it was Boston and for a great cause. There is no cause dearer to my family’s heart than the Boston Arts Academy so as I lace up my running shoes to tackle the iconic Boston Marathon, I am dedicating every step to raising funds and awareness for BAA and the generous sponsorship of CITGO.
What’s more iconic in Boston than the marathon and the Citgo sign…? Our young people! And as Boston's first and only high school for the visual and performing arts, the Boston Arts Academy is a beacon of creativity, education, and inspiration in the very heart of the city. This remarkable institution plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of young artists, providing them with a platform to hone their talents and pursue their dreams.
We all know that art has the power to transform lives, and the Boston Arts Academy recognizes this potential in every one of the students that walk through their doors. By supporting this institution, we are investing in the next generation of painters, dancers, musicians, and actors who will not only enrich the cultural tapestry of Boston but also contribute to the broader artistic landscape.
Your support means more than just helping me cross the finish line; it signifies a commitment to the arts and the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to explore and express their creativity. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of these talented young artists, empowering them to reach new heights and make a meaningful contribution to our community.
I am reaching out to you, my dear friends and family, to join me on this incredible journey. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. Let's come together to celebrate the arts and ensure that the Boston Arts Academy continues to be a nurturing environment for aspiring artists.
Thank you for supporting not only my marathon journey but, more importantly, the dreams and aspirations of the talented students at the Boston Arts Academy.
With gratitude,
Veronica Brown
