Help for New Rescues

New donkeys have arrived with us in desperate need of expensive veterinary care... Despite the difficulties this past year has brought us, our vital rescue work simply has to continue!
New donkeys have arrived with us in desperate need of expensive veterinary care... Despite the difficulties this past year has brought us, our vital rescue work simply has to continue!
We have taken in FOURTEEN more donkeys in desperate need of our help over the past few months. Every single one of them has arrived in a very sad and sorry state, having suffered years of neglect or abuse.
Topaz and her friends have just arrived at our sanctuary; malnourished, riddled with worms and liver fluke and with terrible feet and teeth. Shockingly, poor Topaz is at least 100kg under what would be a healthy weight for her...
Angus, Monica, Minnie & Hope needed expensive diagnostic x-rays and treatment for their appalling, painful feet and Bonnie was being ridden - despite being very thin and acutely lame.
Pedro, Pablo and Trilby all arrived underweight, full of lice and infested with worms. Poor Pedro had wounds all over his body and a very sore mouth with infected, ulcerated blisters around his gums. What he has suffered is heart-breaking. At the time of writing, we have also just taken in yet more rescues...We now have four small, dear little donkeys safe with us, but they are in poor condition with the most appalling feet and will need expensivediagnostic x-rays.
Transport costs for our recent rescues were £2,500 and initial vet check-ups and parasite treatment for 7 donkeys will total £3,150. Blood screening and dung samples will be £1,400 and foot x-rays at £850 per donkey will be another £3,400. It costs £400 per call out for the equine dentist vet, not to mention farrier call out fees and remedial farrier work...
We are now facing veterinary invoices of well over £15,000 to pay for our new rescues and we know we are looking at having to pay out a lot more more for the dentist to make our new arrivals more comfortable.
Please, please donate towards their vet bills if you can. We can only keep rescuing donkeys with your help.
Thank you so much. x
