Vic Fest 2025 to Raise Funds for Clear Cell Sarcoma

Linda and Steve are holding a late summer Festival in their garden at the Old Vicarage, Teynham on Saturday the 6th September to raise funds for the Edward Showler Foundation.

CCS is an incurable cancer. Ed Showler was a gifted young doctor when he was diagnosed with CCS. The foundation, set up in his memory, funds research to develop effective treatments for future generations, supports those affected by sarcoma and enhances sarcoma awareness in the medical profession

Story

The Edward Showler Foundation was set up in memory of Ed Showler. Ed was a young doctor who was diagnosed with metastatic Clear Cell Sarcoma in 2017 and died just 8 months later at the age of 28.

Clear Cell Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that mainly affects young adults in their 20’s and 30’s and for which there is no effective treatment.

The Edward Showler Foundation is funding a research programme at University College London to better understand the disease and to provide new life saving treatments for Clear Cell Sarcoma patients.

To date the Foundation has raised over £1 million and is aiming to raise £1.5 million.

Help us achieve our target by donating.

Thank you!

This is the second year running that Linda and Steve have supported Ed’s Foundation through the festival and last year raised over £1,000.

Ed went to school with Linda’s eldest son Callum and Ed and Linda were always close to one another.

We would like to thank Linda and Steve for their ongoing support.
