Like Sophia's family, over 600 local families supported by Acorns are self-isolating. This is an uncertain time for everyone, but not least for the children and families who rely on their local children's hospice.

Caring for a life limited or life threatened child is difficult and even more so with the current threat of coronavirus. Acorns Children's Hospice is here to make sure no family faces this crisis alone.

Although many families cannot visit the hospice, Acorns is still providing vital care and support. From providing care packages of food and toiletries to vulnerable families who are unable to leave the house, to ensuring we are always on the end of the phone.

In spite of the current challenges we all face, Acorns is continuing to provide emergency and end of life hospice care for children, whilst offering its Birmingham Hospice to the NHS to support Covid-19 patients.
