Story
The Journey So Far - Cycling Ireland
See below updates for information on our campaign.
Day 1 – Cycle
The cycle is truly underway, starting from Youghal and taking in the beautiful scenery along the river and thought the Lee Valley on to Killarney. 100 miles! Tomorrow, I’ll go back to Youghal then drive in George, my home on wheels, to Killarney. Getting ready for the Gap of Dunloe. Thank you all for your support and encouragement.

Day 2 – Cycle
Starting early, the cycle began around Killarney National Park and finished back at George in Youghal harbor. I was afraid someone might pinch my bike, hence the bike going to the loo with me! To celebrate another safe day of cycling I ended the day with a lovely swim in the harbor. Tomorrow, I tackle the Gap of Donloe in the morning and I hope to get started on the Ring of Kerry. Will be a big day on Tuesday, thunder storms expected but we carry on. Been great so far, thank you all for sharing and I am grateful for all the donations so far.

Day 3 – Cycle
Today was a leisurely one, took a ninety-minute boat journey from Ross Castle through 3 lakes. While the bike followed behind in another boat. The boatman was great craic! Once off I faced a steep cycle up to the Gap of Dunloe and down to Kate Kearney Cottage for soup with some new friends I made. Recharged I cycled a portion of the Ring of Kerry and back to Killarney. Resting now ahead of a big day tomorrow, completing the Ring of Kerry. Rain forecast but the show must go on. Thank you all for the encouragement and support. As I pedal, I mediate and thank God for His great faithfulness over the years. May God bless each one of you.

Day 4 – Cycle
We made it! 12-hour day of cycling, with stop stops of course but still 110 miles done on the Ring of Kerry. The rain never came, instead blessed with sunshine and perfect conditions. Few gear issues with the bike but it got me back to Killarney safely. Overall, that’s 300 miles in 4 days! I’m tired but otherwise just fine and so thankful for Gods goodness, His protection and care.
He shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. Psalms 91. Tonight, I simply repeat, I can do nothing on my own but I can do all things through Christ, which stretches me. Philippians 4:19.

What’s next?
Tomorrow, I drive home to catch up on things before heading to Scotland on Friday for the motorcycle phase of the fundraiser. African Twin ride to John O’Groats and NC 500 1500 plus miles. Thank, you for all the support.
About Our Campaign
Our Ongoing Work
We provide education, healthcare, food and clean water sources. Currently we support over 2000 children with 4 schools, while running feeding programs and orphan care projects in the most impoverished rural areas of Malawi. This particular campaign is focused on building a new dormitory and kitchen facility allowing us to accommodate more orphans at our Peacehaven Children's Centre.
We Need Your Help
We now desperately need your help with funding and are very grateful to our partners LIFT (Living in Faith & Trust). Who are taking a group out to help from the Nov 6th to 19th to assist in building the new dormitory and kitchen facility. We urgently need to raise funds for ground works, foundations and purchase of all materials in preparation for the new building works.
Every penny of every donation will go 100% to this project. On completion of the cycle + motorcycle fundraiser I will personally fly out to Malawi to supervise the work.
How it Started
Operation Victor, 1995. A fundraising motorcycle journey in 1995 from Belfast to Capetown South Africa, is where is it began. Motivated by his Christian faith Victor then started Vision International Ministries to help impoverished children and communities in East Africa.
Thank You For Your Support
We greatly appreciate your support and I personally thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. If you would like any more information, to sponsor a child or would like to get involved in anyway please free feel to reach out to me. Thank you for sharing our vision, helping more people to help themselves. Victor.
