Story

Following a suggestion from one of our medical professional volunteers and in honour of the memory of a much missed colleague Pelekelo Kabulubulu who suddenly and tragically passed in 2018, we have started a Memorial Bursary Scheme. We are asking all of our existing medical volunteers and any new volunteers who may become involved with the Virtual Doctors service if they would consider contributing to this scheme. The funds raised will be used, exclusively and in entirety, to help cover the costs of education, (or any other associated or extenuating circumstances deemed appropriate and as agreed by a selection panel) for one of Pelekelo's fellow Clinical Officers (COs) or those COs just like him, who will be benefitting from the service in the future. The scheme's aim is to ensure that Pelekelo's lasting legacy will enable the professional development and ultimately the improvement of patient care in Zambia.
