THE FLOODING

The recent flooding of the Yamuna River is devastating areas of Vrindavan, India, leaving many in need of urgent care and help to survive.

The flood continues to be above the water danger level and has submerged many houses in the low lying areas leaving many without homes, access to clean water, food or toilets.  

The Yamuna River has reached the boundary wall of Baba's ashram Sri Radha Giridhari Mandir.  Thankfully all of the residents are ok and have moved up to the top floor for safety.  The cows are also doing fine.

The ground floor of Baba's other ashram Sri Nityananda Kuti is submerged in water. The ashram deities and residents have moved to the top floor.

THE PROBLEM

The local communities around the Yamuna and both of Baba's ashram's are flooded.

There are many homeless people, cows and animals needing help.

They have no access to proper sanitation, food or clean water.

Locals are coming to the ashram to ask for water but we have no electricity (only a very small insufficient generator on loan) to pump for water.

The temperatures are between 31 and upto 40 degrees, with high humidity and with no electricity there are no fans.

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP....

*Buy a generator to provide water. Electricity and water supplies have been cut off for 5 days. Electricity will allow us to pump water from the ashram bore hole and supply to the many people coming to the ashram begging for water. We have only been able to ration and give out one or two buckets to each household. A generator and good electricity supply will allow us to give more.

*Feed the most badly affected who have lost their homes completely. We aim to distribute hot, nutritious food daily in the affected areas.

*Buy a large tanker full of clean drinking water to provide to those in need.

*Medical Aid. Once the water recedes we anticipate a rise in fever, typhoid, malaria and dengue, amongst other medical emergencies. We aim to provide medical support with a doctor and medicine.
