VTO provides free educational support to disadvantaged children in Glasgow, helping children who need it the most, bridging the attainment gap, and building confidence.

Story

VTO recruits, trains and supports volunteer tutors who work directly with children across Scotland who are falling behind at school. These are young people who may be experiencing challenges at home, who’ve moved between schools, or who simply need someone to believe in them.

Each pupil is matched with a dedicated tutor who helps them build confidence, improve in literacy or numeracy, and discover joy in learning again. Sessions are always free of charge - and tailored to each child’s needs.

“My child has improved so much since attending the hub, especially with literacy.”
