We are facing an emergency. 800,000 children are living in poverty in London. That's nearly 40% of all children in the capital. Many families are struggling with impossible choices, like deciding between going hungry or sitting in the cold and dark. Children are feeling dread and anxiety as to what lies ahead, knowing this winter is going to be harder than ever. (Childhood Trust).

Vulnerable parents may be forced to resort to unsafe practices to feed their babies because of sharp increase in the cost of infant formula, charities have warned.

The charity Feed said families that were unable to afford enough infant formula had resorted to watering down the product or feeding their babies unsuitable food such as porridge.
