In areas where ground water is so scarce, sometimes the only solution is to build environmentally-friendly and sustainable solar powered electric pumps.
Across Asia and Africa, there are places where a standard hand pump or a water well are not adequate enough solutions in supplying clean and useable water to communities. Whether that is because of a sufficient lack of water or because the only viable source of water is too far underground for traditional methods.
This means the only solution is to build a well deep enough to reach a water source, but one that will need an electrical pump to extract water through. Whilst it is possible to build one using a diesel generator, this is an incredibly expensive solution due to high fuel costs and requiring regular maintenance.
A Solar Water Well is seen as a better solution thanks to them being proven to be financially, operationally and environmentally more efficient. An initial big expense, the solar wells are able to extract water multiple times a day at a low cost.
