Campaign by Kiya

Story

The Kiya Crew are taking on a 4-day challenge to raise vital funds for the Mama Cocha Centre in Máncora, Peru.

Our team will walk the final 54km of the ancient pilgrim route, the Camino Francés on the Camino de Santiago, travelling from Melide to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain.

Among the walkers will be our CEO, Suzy Butler, who will be taking on the challenge alongside her children. Despite a recent diagnosis of osteoarthritis, making walking increasingly difficult and painful, Suzy is determined to complete the journey as a message of hope and resilience for the children and families we support in Peru — many of whom face similar conditions and more severe disabilities.

"I know this isn’t going to be easy, but I am attending physiotherapy and am determined to get strong enough to complete the challenge as an example to our children and families. We can do anything if we put our minds to it!"

— Suzy Butler

We are asking for your support to help our determined team raise funds to secure the future of our additional physiotherapist through 2027, ensuring continued therapy and care for the 45 children supported at the Mama Cocha Centre.

Physiotherapy is not simply supportive care — it is essential treatment. It maximises functional independence, alleviates chronic pain, and helps prevent secondary complications that can profoundly affect a child’s quality of life.

Every donation helps us continue providing life-changing therapy and ensure that no child is left behind. 💛
