Walking Together with Yindyamarra

Help shape a kinder, more respectful future by supporting the Yindyamarra Trust at Charles Sturt University.

Our charter – to be a university of the land and people, with our focus on the needs of our regional and rural communities still stands today. Our success is grounded in the qualities we draw from our regional roots–our sense of community, will for hard work and resilience when times get tough.

Story

We live in a time of noise, division, and deep uncertainty. Conversations have become harder. Trust feels fragile. Many people are searching for meaning, connection, and a sense of belonging, to each other, to place, and to something greater than themselves.

Under the leadership of Distinguished Professor Stan Grant Jr, the Yindyamarra Trust exists to meet this moment with care.

Yindyamarra is a Wiradjuri philosophy of living well in a world worth living in. It reminds us to slow down, to listen deeply, and to treat one another with dignity - even when we disagree. It shifts our focus away from division and towards shared responsibility. It invites us to remember that we belong to each other, and to Country.

Through leadership, dialogue, reflection, and nation building work, the Yindyamarra Trust creates space for people to come together to imagine a more generous future. It nurtures conversations that help us rediscover what it means to live with respect.

A gift to the Yindyamarra Trust is an act of hope.

It says: we believe in listening. We believe in kindness. We believe there is a better way forward.
