The Moredun Foundation Equine Grass Sickness Fund (EGSF) is a division of The Moredun Foundation, a registered Scottish charity. EGSF is dedicated to raising funds specifically for research into grass sickness, an often fatal disease of horse and ponies.

Story

In April 2023 we were shocked to learn of the loss of Scottie, a gentle giant with a huge following of fans. Scottie had battled equine grass sickness (EGS) aged 18 years old, and went on to raise awareness of the disease along with his devoted owner Lorraine Saunders. In 2022 we were honoured to have Scottie join us for the Survivors Parade at the Royal Highland Show and to represent us at the World Clydesdale Show.

We are asking you to help carry on Scottie's work, to tell the world about grass sickness, help fund the vital research into the disease and spread the word about the EGS Biobank.

Our challenge is to Walk, Run or Ride in Memory in May. Share your memories of your horses lost to grass sickness, and celebrate the lucky survivors.
