Story

"Dover Rotary is delighted to support Dover Based Social Enterprise; Future Foundry, in their appeal to raise funds to welcome Amal to Dover. The Walk is an international arts festival from @GoodChanceTheatre. Little Amal, a giant puppet of a refugee child, is traveling 8,000km across Turkey and Europe to highlight the plight of child refugees. Little Amal (who is 3.5metres tall) will be welcomed by hundreds of cultural events along the way. In Dover she will be met by 500 star lanterns carried by children, families and residents. Leaving at 6.15pm on Wednesday 20th October in Pencester Gardens, the procession of lights and music will slowly wind its way to Dover Castle, where over the course of the evening a new lighthouse created by UV Lab will be illuminated by the lantern stars. Hear what Lisa, Founder of Future Foundry, tells us about the event and what the funds raised will be used for, not just for this exciting upcoming event but the future of the Dover community."
