Story
Background
Last academic year, our much-loved Head of PE, De la Rey Terblanche, suffered a stroke. The progress he has been making on the path to recovery has been nothing short of inspirational: his determination and strength have never left him.
The initial gains he made were amazing. As he begins to walk longer distances, we at Cardinal Vaughan will walk with him every step of the way. The money we raise will help to fund De la Rey's ongoing physiotherapy. We are looking for our community to come together to support one of our own.
The Challenge
We want as many members of the Vaughan community as possible to get involved with our Walk With Me fundraiser. All you have to do is walk 10,000 steps a day for two weeks, starting on Saturday 24 October. Get your friends, family, and colleagues to donate to our central fundraising page here on JustGiving: all money will be going directly to the Terblanche family to support the cost of De la Rey's physiotherapy. Every step will help us towards our goal of ten million, so don't worry if you cant reach 10,000 per day, please still submit what you have managed to do.
Step 1: Share the fundraising page with your friends and family, asking them to donate, telling them what you are doing.
Step 2: Get your walking shoes on and get outside!
Step 3: Send us your pictures to ov@cvms.co.uk or tweet us them at @cardinalvaughan.
Step 4: Fill in this form telling us how many steps you managed, ideally everyday.
Step 5: Check our counter on the website to see how many steps the community has completed.
Step 6: Repeat every day for two weeks!
