We support the recovery of those affected by rape, exploitation, sexual and domestic abuse across north and west Cumbria. Your support helps improve wellbeing and resilience by reducing the impact of trauma and strengthening positive coping strategies. We also provide support with practical needs.

Story

Walk With Safety Net this May 💙

May is National Walking Month, and we’re inviting you to take part in something simple, meaningful and powerful.

Join Walk With Safety Net and take steps this May to support people recovering from domestic abuse, sexual violence, exploitation and trauma.

Why walking?

Walking is one of the simplest ways to support our own wellbeing.

It can help reduce stress, improve mood, create moments of calm and give space to breathe and think. For many people, it’s also a gentle and accessible way to begin reconnecting with themselves and the world around them.

In trauma recovery, small steps matter. Walking reflects that - steady, at your own pace, one step at a time.

Take your first step today

Whether you walk alone, with friends, with family or with your dog, you can be part of something meaningful.

“Sometimes healing begins with one small step.”

This May, walk with us💙
