The staff on Ward C7 are passionate about improving the experience of the patients on their Ward, which treats people with gastrointestinal conditions such as Pancreatic cancer, liver failure, chrones disease and so much more.
Patients can quite often be in hospital for some time as many of the conditions are debilitating and have a long lasting effect on patients lives in and out of the hospital setting. It is important to make their stay a positive experience when dealing with such personal difficulties.
They would love to fund some interactive reminiscence software to help support patients during their stay, especially those receiving palliative end of life care. They also have plans to fundraise for a bladder scanner and ECG machine through means of running the Birmingham half marathon and various other events.
But sometimes it is the simple things that can make a difference such as providing puzzle books and jigsaws to keep our patients minds active.
