Update on our campaign - 1st November 2022

Over the weekend we've been doing some testing, and there are some changes still to be made before they are officially finished. But it is with great relief and joy that our toilets are now OPEN. We cannot wait for you to see them. They are bright, welcoming and a physical embodiment of our values.

Thank you to the many people who have supported us to make the toilets a reality Thank you for your support and patience.

Due to the rise in costs of construction materials during the build, the costs of the toilets were more than we originally planned. If you believe, like we do, that Watershed is for everyone and would like to support the contribution that our new toilets make, then we would be hugely grateful for your financial support.

Update on our campaign - 11th July 2022

Thanks again to everyone who has donated to 'Our toilets are for everyone'. It's because of the support that we've received so far that we can let you know that the work on our toilets has started today.

You'll notice some changes to the layout of our main foyer as these toilets are now closed. Whilst the work is taking place you can find more toilets through the Cafe Bar and our accessible toilet by Cinema 1 is available. If you need any help please speak to one of our staff members.

As we announced in May, due to the rising cost of the building work we still have a final £7,000 to raise - can you help by donating today?

Update on our campaign - 11th May 2022

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our campaign so far. We are so grateful for your support and kind comments.

We've now received quotes from contractors and not surprisingly the costs of the project (which were done pre-Pandemic) have risen because of the increase in cost of the materials we need. We now need to raise an additional £10,000 towards the refurbishment and so we are raising our campaign target to £15,000.

Anything you are able to give towards our new target is amazing and we are so grateful.

At last - we are hoping to get new toilets in the top foyer this summer.

We all know our toilets in the upstairs foyer are long overdue a refurb. In 2020, we were just about to start building work then the pandemic hit and our plans were put on hold.

We are now just bursting to get on with the job. We've raised some money towards our hopeful refurbishment this summer from Charitable Trusts and now we are asking for your help to donate to our toilet fundraiser. Can you help us on our journey to become one of the most inclusive, welcoming spaces in Bristol?

This summer's refurbishment will include:

Floor to ceiling self-contained toilets (some with hand-washing facilities and mirrors)

Another accessible toilet

Baby changing facilities

Additional shared hand-washing facilities

We will continue to provide:

Male and female toilets, which are situated through the Café & Bar both of which have baby changing facilities

Two self-contained cubicles with hand washing facilities behind the cinemas

An accessible toilet in front of Cinema 1

Sanitary products in all toilets

And we will continue to welcome anyone who wishes to use any of the toilets in our public building

Our toilets are for everyone.

We strongly believe that inclusion and creating a space where everyone feels they belong at Watershed is core to our purpose - our toilets are one small part of that.

We understand that many people and communities prefer separate spaces for different reasons, which is why we are committed to providing choice throughout our building. Our aim is to provide a wide enough selection of different facilities so that any of our visitors can choose the toilets they are more comfortable with.
