Story
The closure of both Waterside Miners Club and Waterside Subscription School left residents in the area with nowhere to meet or hold previously well-attended community events and activities.
Waterside Miners Charitable Society (WMCS) was revived in 2022 to put this right by building a venue where people of all ages from anywhere around could once again have meetings, get-togethers, parties, classes, clubs, sports activities and fun days.
Before Waterside Community Hub can be built, we need to knock down the existing club buildings on the Duntiblae site, which is likely to cost some £80,000.
Once we have covered demolition costs, all our fundraising efforts will be directed towards building Waterside Community Hub on the newly cleared site.
The charity will of course be applying to a variety of funders for grants. However, some funders will prefer to match-fund sums already raised. This means that every pound donated in this campaign is likely to generate even more money.
Success in this fundraiser will provide yet more clear evidence of community support for this project: evidence that will doubtless play a key role in funder decisions.
Thank you in advance for any donations you can make.
