On 3 August 2024 EAU's own Alex and Abel will lead a cycling expedition to raise funds to tackle water inequality.
A group of volunteers and people passionate about EAUs work will be cycling 50 km from Namboole in Kampala to St Jospeh Katosi Roman Catholic school on Lake Victoria on Saturday 3rd August.
The school currently has extremely poor access to clean drinking water so our group of cyclists will be delivering water filters to the community. We will also be raising funds to assist with new building latrines, water tanks, run skills workshops and build a community skills training centre in Bukedea district.
Our Water Wheel initiative will enable us to make a real and measurable difference. We pledge to use the funds entirely for our Ugandan operations, building water tanks and running community skills workshops. Your support will be life changing for many. Our Co-Founder Abel Odeke says: ‘I will be one of those cycling the Water Wheel event. Your support will be needed too to help those who urgently need help with their water and sanitation needs. Thank you so much.'
About our work:
Equal Aqua Uganda are deeply concerned about water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) conditions in Uganda, and the wider effects this has on health, education and livelihoods. Our projects are designed to target hard-to-reach groups and marginalised sections of society, who are facing the greatest WASH inequalities, such as age, gender, location, ethnicity and wealth.
