HALLELUJAH for the power of music in Worcestershire!

Worcestershire Community Foundation (WCF) is the charitable partner and beneficiary of Worcester Festival Choral Society’s (WFCS) annual benefit performance of Handel’s Messiah at Worcester Cathedral.

'Following the formation of our partnership with WFCS in 2025, we are excited to be collaborating on this year’s performance of the Messiah on 12th December. We are very proud to be WFCS’ selected charitable partner into the future, generating support for children and young people in Worcestershire through the power of music.”

The original aim of Handel’s first Messiah concert in 1742 was to support charitable causes impacting health, wellbeing and social change.

Last year, funds raised through the Choral Society’s inaugural Messiah Benefit Concert supported two Worcestershire charities working with babies and young children:

• Becoming Families - working with families in Worcester to promote strong parent-infant relationships with the aim of improving life-long infant, child and family mental health.

• Museum of Royal Worcester - towards their creative outreach programme with early years and schools in deprived areas, supporting communities to connect, create and thrive, through clay and heritage.

This year’s Messiah Benefit Concert will continue to support youth causes in Worcestershire with funds raised for WCF's Messiah Fund.

Organisations, businesses or private individuals are invited to become a Messiah Gold Patron, contributing to the fund.

Gold Patrons will receive:

• Priority booking for nave seats (if confirmed by 30th September)

• Complimentary half-page colour ‘proud to support’ acknowledgment in the concert programme

• Invitation to join the VIP drinks reception during the concert in the Chapter House

• A presence on WFCS’ dedicated Messiah donors’ web page, with a link to the Patron’s website

• A thank you in social media posts
