Story
We are raising money for our upcoming pantomime, Cinderella!
Each year, WCTP offers free tickets to foster children, their carers and also to young carers and children with cancer, working in partnership with other local charities. Our aim is to facilitate the opportunity for local disadvantaged children, who otherwise could not afford to so do, to experience our pantomime and encourage their social inclusion. This project has been a great success over the years, and over the past 6 years we have provided over 2000 free tickets to our pantomimes. The benefit and enjoyment the children have received is truly rewarding and the feedback we receive each year clearly demonstrates this. Stories like Maya's remind us why this project is so important:
Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend Aladdin last Friday night. Our two children Sam (6) and Maya (3) absolutely LOVED it. Maya was sadly diagnosed with leukaemia in October’21 and this was the first time we were able to do something ‘normal’ as a family and Maya’s first theatre experience. The sets were bright and engaging, the singing was phenomenal and the actors were very talented! The kids really got involved and especially loved the magical carpet ride, the part with the yeti (!), getting squirted with water and of course having the opportunity to join the cast on stage and sing! It was a magical night and we all had so much fun! What a lovely theatre too! Sam was so sad it was over he was crying on the way home! We will definitely be back next year. Thank you so much for this fantastic opportunity- it was the best thing we’ve been able to do for months x“
Producing our pantomime is incredibly expensive and we rely entirely on fundraising to keep our pantomime going so we can carry on providing these magical opportunities for children like Maya. Please donate if you can.
