Story
No more suffering in her life. We are changing Olivias life!
My motherhood started with fear and my daughters life began from fighting death. When I recall Olivias first days of life, tears rise to my eyes. We were both diagnosed with sepsis. We were both in a grave danger, Olivia and me.
Doctors decided to perform an emergency C-section. It was the only way to save Olivia. My tiny daughter was immediately transferred to an incubator and connected to multiple machines. She could not breathe on her own, a resuscitator kept her alive. She weighed 2 kilos. She was so frail I was afraid to touch her. I could barely see her under tangled wires. Instead of a silent cry, I could only hear the humming of machines.
Until today, when I look at old photos, I have tears in my eyes. Prematurity and cerebral haemorrhages when Olivia was one day old caused huge destructionmy daughter had a stroke grade 1 and 4 cerebral haemorrhages. This caused massive damages. Olivia has cerebral palsy and her physical and cognitive development is delayed. When she was over two years old, she done first, independent steps.
Despite the hard, daily and often painful rehabilitation, Olivia is an incredibly cheerful child. Every new thing that she learns makes her extremely happy. I know that Olivia has still a long way to catch up with her peers. Intensive and long-term rehabilitation will make it possible. Nevertheless, this type of care and therapy costs a huge amount of money.
Olivia is in the care of the NHS therapists since she was four months old. Nevertheless, they did nothing to help her, apart from telling us her actual state. I dont want to think what could have happened if it wasnt for the private therapists
Unfortunately, due to the lack of money, we had to cancel our fortnightly sessions. Currently, Olivia attends sessions twice a month.
Although we are trying as hard as we can, we cannot afford to provide the best, specialist care for our daughter. Therefore, I am asking you to help Olivia. It is difficult for me, but her health is my priority! Olivia is an amazing child who has suffered a lot already.
Olivia is now 5 years old. Look how great she is doing. We are already over 4.5years in physiotherapy and Olivia made huge progress.
No one expected that we will get to this stage. Olivia is a little warrior and she is eager to learn new things. Mentally and physically she behaves like 3 years old, but that doesn't stop her from making new friendships. The most beautiful is that everyone accept her the way she is. Nothing going to stop her, she always tries to do all the things like her peers and siblings.
She has difficulties with learning how to read and write, but we are working on it. One day she will get there.
Thank you all for the support we got already , without you we wouldn't achieve all of this.
We still have at least a few years of rehabilitation ahead of us, but I know its worth it. Unfortunately, current funds are enough only for 1 year of physiotherapy.
It is worth to fight for a better tomorrow!
We appreciate your continued support.
