This is a worrying time for everyone and self-isolation and social distancing present additional practical and emotional problems. Our services are needed more than ever and we are rising to the ever-changing challenges we face as a result of Covid-19.

We have received an increased number of enquiries from older people who are feeling lonely due to loss of contact with families; from carers, looking after loved ones, who are worried about getting sick and what will happen if they do; from young people feeling anxious about their future and from people worried about coping alone with mental health issues.

Our offices are closed but we are here to offer a listening ear as well as advice and information. Our highly trained and friendly staff are available via telephone, email or through online applications offering 1 to 1 support. We will be continually reviewing new ways to keep in touch.

The financial impact from Covid-19 poses a real challenge for us as we have been forced to cancel or postpone many of this years fundraising activities. As well as events and community fundraising being cancelled, many of the local businesses we work with are not at work to support our fundraising efforts. We have also had to close both the Ugly Duckling workshop and pop-up shop and, as a result, we are losing income from sales. We estimate our lost income this year to be £10,000 this may increase if the lockdown is extended even further.

A donation of £10 will pay for 2 calls to our advice line.

A donation of £25 will fund an on-line group activity for 8 people.
