Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group

Calvin Wright from Lands End to John O'Groats to Lands End on a Honda C90 moped!

Motorcycling from Land’s Ends to John O’Groats and back may not be the toughest of challenges…unless you do it on a moped. That’s what Isle of Wight Council worker Calvin Wright is doing next month to raise money for the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer

Story

The ‘Super Cub’ Honda is the workhorse of the world, with more than 100 million built since the 1950s.

It has a top speed of 40mph and is generally designed for commuting and short-range trips.

Calvin decided on the IWPCSG as his chosen charity as friends in the village had contracted prostate cancer and, as a man in his 50s, he was aware of the danger of not regularly testing yourself.

He said: “It made sense really as the group does such good work and needs to raise more than £30,000 a year to pay for its testing schedule.”

After riding down to Land’s End (over 200 miles in itself) Calvin will set out for the north of Scotland on August 5, and aims to be back on the Isle of Wight, via the east coast, on August 18.
