Did you know that in the last 5 years nearly 5,000 young people living in Hampshire left care? Or that a quarter of those care leavers came from Southampton and the surrounding areas? Did you know that leaving care can be scary, worrying and sometimes very overwhelming?

We did, and that is why we have been supporting care leavers to transition to independent living, learn new skills, strengthen their support networks, engage with education, find jobs and connect with their local community.

The current Coronavius Crisis has had a huge impact on both their physical and mental well being. There are worries over money, food, and a decrease in support networks. Aspirations are low and job searches have been cut short. There is a great sense of loss, loneliness, and that there is no one to turn to.
