Story
The current phase of our project aims to
re-develop the aging church hall so that it can function as a modern, accessible, and flexible community resource for the parish.
Principles
The redeveloped hall will:
• be rooted in the locality, based on extensive evidence-based research, and co-created with the local community.
• be developed and used on sustainable and ecologically sound principles.
• be fully accessible to local communities.
• be used to further social justice and inclusion.
• be used in line with Horfield Parish Church’s commitment to service in the local community.
What we will do
When the hall is redeveloped, as well as making space available for community activities, we will be able to offer support to local people, ranging from learning basic cooking skills to providing access to IT.
We will partner with Christians Against Poverty to provide debt counselling, budget planning and income maximisation.
New spaces will be open throughout the year to offer friendship, warmth, potential for showers and provision of basic food. Local GPs and community policing teams are enthusiastic about being able to use the facilities.
We are clear that it is not our intention to evangelise, but rather to serve the community as an expression of our faith
Please help to make our vision a reality. Every donation made will go towards the re-development of the hall. Thank you.
