The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others...
The Wellesbourne District Girlguiding team have been brilliant over the last 12 months, especially keeping a sense of normality for the girls and women they support during the CovID-19 pandemic. Even though income has seen a huge decline with the inability for face to face activities since March 2020, they have been able to continue much needed engagement by running virtual sessions to keep Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers engaged and busy over this challenging time.
The Girlguiding units within the district (2 Rainbow, 2 Brownie, 1 Guide and 1 Ranger) led by newly appointed District Commissioner Laura Albert Martinez, are all looking forward to resuming face to face activities at some point during 2021. However to ensure the safety & ongoing protection of all members they will have to supply new equipment, which may need to include:
Cones for social distancing
Laminator pockets
First aid restocking
Visors
Gloves
Face masks
Wipes
Hand gel
Dispensers
Thermometer
Also, whereas before certain items could be shared around the groups, this is no longer possible, so they will have to buy more items (pens, pencils, scissors etc)
Any money you can donate will help the eager girls and leaders have the ability to return to face to face meetings with their friends and give the feeling of a near normal Guiding life again.
Girlguiding has been successfully running in Wellesbourne District for many years and I am sure there are many residents that spent a wonderful time growing up amongst similar groups. We would love to hear your experiences.
